The Oils Olive Oil - Olive oil is soothing to the skin; it heals dry, cracked, rough skin. Olive oil moisturizes the skin by attracting external moisture, holding that moisture close to the skin and forming a breathable film to prevent loss of internal moisture. Olive oil is a particularly wonderful moisturizer, because it does not block any of the natural functions of the skin. The skin is able to sweat, breathe and shed dead skin. Palm Oil - Palm oil has hardening properties for the soaps and also aids in the lathering. Palm oil is taken from the palm tree frond. Grapefruit Seed Extract - Grapefruit Seed Extract has natural antiseptic, antibiotic and antioxidant properties. This is one of the main natural preservatives that we use in all of our soap products. Jojoba Oil - Jojoba oil moisturizes the scalp, develops new hair cell growth and is not irritating to the skin if applied to dry, itchy and sore scalp. Promotes healthy scalp by allowing the flow of sebum in plugged up pores. As an antibacterial, jojoba is used for treating sores, cuts, bruises and burns and helps heal scars. As we mature beyond early adulthood, our skin produces less and less lipids, resulting in wrinkles and more fragile drier skin. Jojoba's rapid absorption deep enough into the skin's surface layer (stratum corneum) provides all-day moisturization that leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth. Shea Butter - The effects of Shea Butter are far reaching. Sweet Almond Oil - Excellent emollient, alleviates dry skin, soothes inflammation, relieves itching caused by eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis, soothes sunburn Lanolin - Lanolin is used to soothe skin. It is pure,hypoallergenic and bacteriostatic. Lanolin can also be used to treat chapped lips, diaper rash, dry skin, itchy skin, rough feet, minor cuts, minor burns and skin abrasions. Avocado -Avocado oil has outstanding regenerative properties. Full of vitamins A, B, D, E, protein, and lecithin. Highly emollient with anti-wrinkle, anti-bacterial, and anti-oxidant properties. Anti-oxidants have been shown to slow the aging process.It is a natural oil, and is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids that will soften and revitalize rough, dry or aging skin. Avocado oil penetrates the skin more deeply than other oils allowing it to transport nutrients through the outer epidermis of the skin and into the dermis for increased effectiveness. Avocado oil is great for all skin types, and is especially kind to mature, sensitive or troubled skin.It has strong UV absorption properties, regenerates connective skin tissue and inhibits bacteria growth,nourishes and repairs dehydrated, scarred or mature skin, stimulates collagen metabolism to retard visible signs of aging, accelerates the healing process to wounds and skin burns and has high levels of fatty acids to keep skin moisturized. |
The Herbs and Natural Additives Chickweed - Chickweed is chiefly used externally for skin irritations. Chickweed is used as a topical application for rashes and sores and is particularly good for nappy rash. It has a cooling and healing effect. Chickweed is beneficial to ease rheumatic pain and to treat boils and abscesses. It is also excellent for psoriasis, excema, and other skin diseases. Its emollient , demulcent and anti-inflammatory properties make it the perfect remedy for excema. Red Clover - a member of the pea family, red clover contains tocopherol, a powerful antioxidant that helps destroy toxins. Red clover alleviates eczema and other chronic skin conditions Lavender - Lavender has been reported to successfully relieve and treat a multitude of conditions. Fever, minor burns, insomnia and tension headaches are just some of the conditions lavender is reported to treat. Lavender is also widely thought to be a great insect repellant, appetite stimulant, immune system stimulant, and aphrodisiac. Lavender is excellent for clearing up oily skin. The best use of lavender is calming the senses and soothing the mind into a relaxed state. Basil - Basil enhances the luster of dull looking skin to improve the tone of your skin. It is used for treating cuts, wounds, skin infections due to its antibacterial properties. It is an analgesic and provides relief for pain from burns, arthrites, wounds, bruises, scars, sprains and headaches to name a few. Peppermint -Peppermint is an anticarcinogenic, supports digestion, antiinfectious, antibacterial, antifungal, pain-relieving, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory. This essential oil may help arthritis, skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis), inflammation, nerve regeneration, rheumatism, elevate and open sensory system. Chamomile - Chamomile is a calming, soothing and relaxing herb.It is good for dry, sensitive skin, acne, eczema, inflammation. Eucalyptus - The oil from this tree is a good antiseptic and antibacterial, good for skin wounds. It is a clearing, balancing and refreshing fragrance. Frankincense Essential Oil is calming, relieves tension, is rejuvenating; it is especially good for aging skin, wrinkles and preserving a youthful complexion. Frankincense is also effective for healing scars. Geranium - Geranium is a calming, refreshing, balancing herb. It is a good astringent and great for cleaning clogged pores Grapefruit Essential Oil is stimulating, energizing, refreshing, and used as an antidepressant with a very nice, natural aroma. Lemongrass Essential Oil - Lemongrass is used as an antiseptic, an antibacterial and many people use this as a deodorant Myrrh - An exotic oil, Myrrh is calming, strengthening, good for mature skin and for very dry skin Orange Essential Oil - Many of our citrus scented soaps use orange oil. It is a good antidepressant, very soothing and beneficial for all skin types, especially for dryness and redness. It has been known to stimulate the regeneration of new skin cells, improve skins elasticity. It is also good for stretch marks and scarring from childbirth. Patchouli Essential Oil - Rejuvenating, it promotes regeneration of new skin cells and is excellent for mature skin to help give it a new shine. Rose Essential Oil is soothing, a natural antiseptic, cleansing, anti-inflammatory, particularly beneficial for mature, dry or sensitive skin with redness or inflammation, rejuvenating and regenerating, well-known for anti-aging properties Tea Tree Oil - Tea Tree Oil is a proven to heal all sorts of cuts, scrapes, abrasions, and mild burns. It is extremely effective for dry skin, excema, psosriasis, and dermatitis. It is a well known and used antiseptic oil for all types of skin types and conditions. Wintergreen Essential Oil - The oil in wintergreen is similiar to the properties of aspirin. Treats inflammation of the joints and muscles and to reduce swelling. It is a cooling, fragrant analgesic. It can be used to arthritic pain and other aches and pains. |
